Jay and i Headed to SA. First shot is of a boat that was near the house here. Our trip took us to dadswell bridge, then dimboola, little desert national park, some salt flats, then a short climb on mitre rock.

the last one is of the red light that was on the trees, cause by the sun through the smoke.

Some pictures from my most recent trip

Well i weighed my gear, now granted i didn’t have it all sorted it was only 7.5kg (bag included). So without food or water i am looking pretty good. i would be surprised if the rest of my gear weighed more then 2kg, though i still have decide what to do about a camera for the trip, as its a pretty heavy item.
Also just went for a 6km walk, took a little over 1 hour i think. I put 4.5kg of water in my bag plus another 1-2kg worth of books and went for a walk, felt very comfortable but i did manage to get a blister or two. I will have to sort out new shoes i think, as my current hiking boots, though excellent, don’t breathe because they are waterproof and are quite heavy. I’ll have to see what i can sort.

I have just come back from a 6km run near my house. I have a 10km race coming up on Dec 5th and would not like to hit the wall with so many on lookers. So i must practice. To be fair it went better then i thought. No time was recorded but i felt good. Sore already though!

Tomorrow with luck i will do a similar walk, or further, carrying a full hiking pack of gear and water (over 20kg worth) to get fit for my big walk. Just have to remember to bring the MP3 player home, there is not much to see around here while walking, and its usually dark.
